Decluttering & Organizing

Clutter. It’s the stuff that covers your counters, fills closets and cabinets and sometimes even makes its home on the floor. It’s not necessarily messy, but it crowds storage spaces, visual space, and sometimes traffic zones in our homes, not to mention basements, garages, and storage units. I am here to help. My compassionate and non-judgmental services include:

  • Clearing surfaces - floors, counters, tables, desks

  • Tidying everything from junk drawers to storage units

  • Arranging spaces to work optimally for you

  • Showing you - and your kids! - secrets to managing your space

Sessions can take place online anywhere…
and in person in the Petaluma and Mountain View, California areas, as well as Dripping Springs, Texas.

What to Expect

  • We begin with a free phone call, about 20 minutes. We'll talk about your wishes, questions and concerns. Together we'll clarify your aims and desires.

I’ll send you a summary of our meeting with a plan and pricing. And we’ll schedule our first session.

Your plan and the way we proceed will be tailored to your needs, both physical and emotional. The plan may include in-person sessions, on-line sessions, emails, and other forms of guidance and support.

I’ll guide you step-by-step through the processes of sorting, assigning homes, organizing and containing. Along the way, we’ll celebrate your progress!

And we’ll prepare the way for your ongoing success in managing and adjusting the order we’ve set up!

  • Here are things to think about, but we can explore them together in our initial conversation. There’s no need to figure it out on your own! Here are some things I often ask:
In your space, what's drawing your attention?
How do you want the space or your experience to change?
Will you be working with me? Do you prefer me organize things on her own?
Are there areas you do not want the me to work on?
Who else will be in the house?
Do you have a no-shoes practice? When do you want the work completed?
Do you want me to work full days or partial?

  • In-person sessions usually last 4 hours. I am available to work up to 6 hours at a time.

    On-line sessions usually last 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

  • You have the final say on everything. I may invite you to redistribute goods you don’t use and that don’t delight you.

  • I encourage you to take BEFORE and AFTER photos so you can see and celebrate what we accomplish.

  • $75 per hour
    4 hours minimum

For travel over 45 minutes, I include travel time to my fee.

  • Peggy was sensitive to my feelings about items I had difficulty deciding to let go or keep. She celebrated steps of progress and encouraged me to do the same on my own. I’m thrilled that I could make so much movement on things that felt too strenuous to face on my own!

    -Elisabeth Seaman, Mountain View, California

  • Thank you so much for your help in organizing my work and sewing space. It is such a sweet setup. I’ve been easily finding things, and now I can jump right into some fun sewing projects.

    -Mary Grogan, Etlan, VA

  • Peggy's love for the project created a positive atmosphere that made it easy for my mother to decide what to let go of. I was delighted with the great experience Peggy created.

    -Thompson Reichert, Houston, TX

  • I have ADD and the chaos had become debilitating. Peggy got me “unstuck" and ready to continue moving forward with a manageable plan.

    -Sandi Weiss, Philadelphia, PA

  • Already after my first session, I have tools and I feel confident that I can be more organized. Living with ADHD my whole life, not just my brain was scattered, but so are my things. Peggy‘s methods are so helpful, she is kind and patient and so good at what she does. Can’t wait for my next session and many more going forward.
